A few weeks back I attended REBarCamp Brisbane. I’m not a Real Estate agent, never have been. I own a software company (well that’s how I explain it to my mum when she asks).

I’ve never been to a BarCamp, meetup or any other kind of user generated event like this be it Real Estate related or otherwise (seems odd to say that given I own a software company and my work life has been directly related to the internet since the mid 90′s) – anyway suffice to say that I was both curious and perhaps a little skeptical as to what I would get out of it. To be honest, I thought it would be a good way to get an insight into what are the top issues for agents and property managers and how do they go about solving them – in turn how may we be able to help them. In the end I decided it was to be a day of listening (Jeff would be proud).

Little did I know, I was about to experience one of the most valuable days I’ve had at any kind of business event.
